Plant Description:

- Selaginella is a genus of fern like plants with quite a few species in it.
- This sheet is for no specific species. It is a general one for the group.
- Plants are low growing and like moisture.
- They are found in large quantities in the southern mountain ranges and the himalayas.
- Many people get the dry plants from the Himalayas. We see them selling bunches of the dry leaves in Pune and Mumbai. When these bunches are soaked in water for a couple of hours - the leaves become fresh and green. In fact that is why it is called - Resurrection Plant.

Growing tips:

- Plants like moisture moderate temperatues and good humidity.
- There are varieties that will grow well in hot and humid regions as well. - Can be used as ground covers.
- Very difficult to grow in dry areas.
