Plant Description:
- Origin: Madagascar
- Uncarina grandidieri is a most attractive plant that is caudiciform or forms a caudex (swollen stem base).
- The caudex will grow to 30 centimetres, the stem reaches 3.5 meters. The flowers are bright yellow.
- The flower resembles a large Petunia in form and is bright yellow.
- The fruit has small inwardly pointed barbs mounted on 3/4 pedicels. Don't touch this fruit unless you want to spend some time trying to remove it from your fingers.
Growing tips:
Growing in well-drained soil with lots of water especially in the hot growing season.
Likes a bright sunny position. Best grown in large pots or raised beds and rockaries.
