- Origin - Colombia
- An evergreen woody scabrous shrub about 2 m high, branches arching.
- Leaves ovate, deep green, thick, hairy, 2-4 cm long with prominent veins.
- Flowers yellow turning reddish orange, funnel shaped, about 3 cm long.
Growing tips:
- Though this shrub is not widely grown in gardens, but it is a very showy flowering plant bearing attractive flowers in large number almost throughout the year.
- Pruning should be done in early rains to keep the plant in shape and the new shoots arising after pruning will bear flowervin a short time.
- Requires well drained fertile soil.
